Climbing in Mallorca.
23 crags, over 900 rock climbing routes.
The island of Mallorca provides excellent rock climbing in beautiful surroundings. The routes here offer all kinds of difficulty, from easy rock climbing to really hard rock climbing routes. If you are prepared to take your time, the small roads on the East of the island will lead you to beautiful rock climbing. Mallorca is a good choice for both families and hardened rock climbers.
Mallorca has a fantastic mountain range called the Tramuntana which has some fabulous impressive climbing routes from grades 4-8.
We can arrange a tailor made holiday for you combining sun, sea and plenty of rocks for all levels of experience, with qualified experienced guides.
During the summer it can be too hot for rock climbing and the recommended periods are during the autumn and spring. Surprisingly, for us north Europeans, the winter is often warm enough for climbing. In the early spring, in February, the island is covered in an abundance of flowers and green grass.
One of the great attractions of a climbing trip to Mallorca is the island's compact size and good network of roads, which allow all the crags to be visited from any of the host of accommodation possibilities. Mallorca's 'off-season' is the perfect time to plan a visit, the island's mild climate, discounted accommodation and low cost flights making it a prime choice for a winter sun visit. What could be better than a morning spent relaxing on a sublime beach, or exploring an exquisite mountain village, followed by as much world class climbing as the body and skin can take, and rounded off by an evening in one of the quiet ports sipping a beer on a terrace as the sun goes down. It is perhaps the atmosphere and the setting which provide the greatest attraction: beautiful cliffs of perfect rock, set amidst some majestic mountains with weather that you would expect in the Mediterranean. The potential of Mallorca has barely been touched, but it is already up there amongst the best.
Caving in Mallorca.
Not many people know that Mallorca has a fantastic cave system. There are some well known tourist caves which really show the spectacular formations that can be found (ie. the Cuevas del Drach). But there are also many extraordinary cave systems which only the professional caver will know about.
Did you know Mallorca;
- Has the longest underwater cave in Europe?
- And has a unique cave system with 23km of passageways to explore?
Most can be found along the un-spoilt eastern coastline but only our professional guides will be able to locate them for you.
If you are interested in a holiday with a difference! Then we should be able to help.
Canyoning in Mallorca.
The nature of the canyons on Mallorca means that they are situated amongst the islands most dramatic and unspoilt scenery.
In some cases vertical walls in excess of 200 metres high and waterfalls over 40 metres can be encountered. All this adds up to make canyoning on Mallorca a breathtaking experience.
If you haven’t done canyoning before, it is a great experience for all the family as long as you are fit and don’t mind heights!
The idea is to follow the canyon or stream downwards: over waterfalls into pools, down rock chutes, and through deep-water gullies.
You will find yourself scrambling over boulders, jumping off rock ledges into pools and abseiling down waterfalls.
We can arrange tailor made day trips which cater for beginners or those requiring an adventurous & thrilling day out.
